HTC’s very first phablet may soon arrive in the Indian market as teased by the Taiwanese manufacturer’s Facebook page for the Indian region. This device is the very first 5-inch smartphone and it is called the HTC Butterfly.
It is
also equipped with a 2,020 mAh battery, all the prime connectivity
features and a microSD card which supports expandable memory up to 32GB.
The recently announced Xperia Z from Sony is more likely to be one if its key competitors.
The pricing for this device is not yet confirmed but an earlier report by AndroidOS.in
suggests that it might have an MRP of Rs. 49,000 while later a few
reports suggested that it might have a street price of Rs. 45,000. None
of this is yet confirmed by the company, but we believe it is like to be
priced somewhere above Rs. 45,000.
The HTC Butterfly first appeared as the HTC J Butterfly exclusively in Japan and then as the Droid DNA in the US via Verizon Wireless.
The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
which is skinned with HTC Sense UI. It sports a 5-inch Super LCD 3
display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection. Further the device has 2GB of
RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, 8.1 megapixel rear camera and a 2
megapixel front facing camera.
